Alpine Electronics sells the "Tendo" font family. From their web page: "The
Tendo font family for shogi (Japanese chess) includes 6 fonts in both
TrueType and PostScript formats and an excellent 9 page User's
Guide. Each of the fonts has the same keymap so it is easy to change from
one diagram style to another. There are three different border styles."

I suggested Tony Hosking to give Alpine a try for his book "The Art of
Shogi," but not having seen the book yet I do not know if he actually went
that route. The fonts look nice enough on Alpine's pages, though. If you
email your postal address to Alpine, you will receive a flyer with sample
printouts and answers to common questions.
