I often go to the dojo to study shogi under the guidance of Miyata 7 dan and other professional/amateur players. To my regret, I was absent the day for cold. The dojo is Takayanagi Dojo, one of the famous dojos in Japan. It's famous for playing on Tatami(Japanese mat), as Eric said. That is unique even in Japan now. It's also famous for producing a lot of great players, such as Nakahara 10 dan, Tanaka 9 dan, Shima 8 dan, Shimizu joryu Meijin.... Now, some boys and girls study shogi there. They'll be professional players in the near future. I'm going to see Miyata 7 dan and Takayanagi 9 dan at Dojo soon. I'll tell them your gratitude. See you.
