The quick Ishida attack is full of pitfalls. > >Best wishes, > Steve Lamb. > I found that Mr.Makoto Nakahara wrote about Haya-ishida in one of his books, so will breafly introduce it as below. If the variation (from white)S-6b, P-7d, after above diagram, white's Px7d is as a result bad move. Correct move is G-7b. (1) Variation after Px7d from white Px7d,Bx2b+,Sx2b,B*5e,S-7c,R-7d When black's R-7d, if white captures rook by silver (Sx7d) Black will be advantageous by Bx8b+. If white cannot capture rook.... from white B*6d,Rx7c+ If Bx6d instead of Rx7c+, Black's attack will stop by white's Sx6d(Px6d makes the situation advantageous to black by Rx7c+,Kx7c,P*7d). Black's Rx6d rather than Rx7c+ can be considered. from white B*5e,+Rx8b,Bx8b,R*8c,G-7b,R-8e+ Mr.Nakahara says white is happy in this situation. What do you think? (2) Variation after G-7b from white G-7b,Px7c+,Sx7c,Bx2b+,Sx2b,B*5e If white's move G-7d, black,of course captures P at 7c. from white B*3c,Bx7c+,Gx7c,P*7d,G-8c,S*7c,R-9b White's G-8c is nice. If G-7b here, black will be happy by S*7c. However escaping by G-bc and R-9b, black attack will not reach to white. After white's R-9b, black cannot continue attacking. If black's S-8h protecting white's Bx9i+, black's silver at 7c will be killed by white's P*7b. ---- Yoshinori Sawada Tokyo Japan E-mail address: sawada fa2 so-net or jp Nifty-serve ID: VED05133
