When he plays a game in which the opponent player will lose a chance to become challenger of a title or lose his income if he loses the game, Yonenaga does his best and tries to beat him as much as he can even if the result of the game does nothing to do with him. Kato honourable 9-dan, who has contributed a lot in organizing and building up Shogi Renmei and was dead recently, said these words from Mr. Yonenaga saved professional shogi. Perhaps such the underside might have found in the former time, however, I do not believe it could be still going in recent professional shogi. Let's see the hard competition among young players.
