Subject: The underside of shogi???

In sumo wrestling, it is understood [but never spoken] that bouts during a
15-day basho (tournament) are occasionally fixed to the benifit wrestlers of
certain stables.  Mostly this is to benefit 7-7 wrestlers, who will be
demoted if they lose, but cannot lose their rank if they win.  Evidently, 7-7
wrestlers win about 75% of their final day bouts, a surprise for apparent 50%
winners.

Are there any stories of this happening in shogi?  Shogi does not seem to
have "stables" or clubs at the top level.  Just curious!
