YSS 7.0 by Mr. Yamashita won the championship. Kanazawa is the second, Kakinoki is the third. Yano got Amateur Prize. Jeff Rollason from UK's SHOTEST was 10th, Reijer Grimbergen's Heishinku (Geesink) was 20th and Andrew Pearce's Shogi Gold was 23th rank out of 30 programs in the preliminary contest. If Jeff's program beat Yano Shogi at the last round of the preliminary contest, it could enter the final, but it was beaten. The following is the detailed report of the championship. The top 5 programs will enter the next day. The top 3 of the last tournament will be exempted from this day, and proceed directly to the Final. 2nd day: The Final Round robin of 8 programs with each program playing each other once.
