From: Marc Theeuwen MAIL AMSINC COM> Date: 16 dec 1997 Subject: Invitation to the XIIIth Nijmegen Shogi Tournament Dear fellow shogi player, We would like to invite you for the thirteenth Nijmegen Shogi Tournament, and the last Grand Prix tournament of 1997, which will be held from Sunday, December 28 until Tuesday, December 30. During the eight rounds, time limits will be one hour per person per game and thirty seconds byoyomi. Pairings will be done according to the McMahon system. The venue will be "Wijkcentrum de Schalmij", Symfoniestraat 204 in Nijmegen (024-3772460). This tournament hall can easily be reached by bus #8 in the direction of "Neerbosch Oost" from the tunnel underneath the railway tracks near the Central Railway Station of Nijmegen. Exit at the last stop which is in the Symfoniestraat. If you come by car, you can use the city map that is available in JPG format from the WWW-page mentioned below or on request by normal mail. (The venue will be in square D6.) Starting from the big and famous/notorious roundabout in the center of Nijmegen, called "Keizer Karel Plein", you take the "Graafse Weg" which is indicated to lead to Den Bosch and Grave. At some point, and definitely before you cross a channel, you will see traffic signs for Rotterdam (A73). Take there a turn to the right and then the first to the left. The Symfoniestraat will be the second road to the right and the third road to the left. The entry fee will be Fl. 25,-. Accomodations can be arranged on request in a variety of hotels.
