From: "Anthony R. Glass" MTCO COM> Date: 29 oct 1996 Subject: Re: shogi telnet I agree wholeheartedly, Ben. Unfortunately, like so many of you in Shogi-L-land, I lack the programming know-how to sit down and develop client software to access such a server. The Xiangqi and Chess communities are fortunate to have DOS and Windows 3.1-based devotees with the time (and charity) on their hands to create and distribute free clients for all to use. Go and Shogi programmers for some reason cannot (or will not) get beyond the UNIX platform. There's little any of the rest of us can do if we can't do it ourselves--Except maybe switch to Win95 and use the JavaShogi page. (and right now I need more reasons than that to switch to Win95.)
