And I have never censored any mails nor will I do that at any time in the future. You asked about "SHOGI-L officers" and I explained that Matthias and I are list owners. I do not give instructions, but if this issue of notation or other issues that most members very likely could not care less about then maybe a policy should be established. I just hope that that is not necessary and that all members voluntarily use the international notation system as after all SHOGI-L is an international list. >I did not study Chess at all. > Neither did I. I very quickly got very bored with playing Chess. Was I ever so glad when I discovered Shogi! >Until I finish learning, please let >me write on the board in Japanese way for overseas Japanese who >are anxiously waiting for Shogi news on the internet. > SHOGI-L is for everybody, not just for Japanese abroad. If you wish, I will send you the e-mail addresses of the Japanese abroad that subscribe to SHOGI-L so that you can send them mail directly. If you are posting using your notation scheme and it then gets translated once or twice (as happened recently), a lot of noise is added to the signal. It may also confuse the majority of this list that is more used to the international system. I would be against your posting games using anything but the international system, but that would just be my opinion. I cannot and will not stop you if you are determined to post games using your notation scheme. >I think I can learn it within one month, then I can write both >notation at the same time. Is it O.K. for you? > As I said, I do not decide what you can post. If necessary, I can put the issue of notation to a vote on SHOGI-L, but I would only do that as a last resort. I prefer to further discuss these issues off line in order not to bother other SHOGI-L members anymore, so please respond to me personally rather than to the entire list if you prefer to continue this dicussion.
