I'd agree that the P-7f is easier for me to read because I'm more used to it, and the Kanji are easier too because of reading game scores out of Japanese magazines, but so long as a system is logical, it doesn't matter to me. I guess maybe it's like the chess d4 as opposed to KRP-KR4. You can figure any of them out, but some are easier by experience. And yes I know western chess in the western world has had MUCH more following and norms are more set in stone...... I do agree that it would help to spread things out one move per line rather than a paragraph form. It is easier to keep place. Four years ago I had to teach my college room-mate how to play shogi to have an opponent, and now there's discussion on standard western notation. I guess I've come a long long way! Tony Salvaggione
