I appreciate Mr. Iwakura's efforts in providing us with essential information, but the last thing we need is yet another type of game notation. In Thomas Majewski's post there is also a non-standard game notation, so I think it is a good idea to give the 3rd game of the Meijin-sen in standard international notation: Black: Habu Yoshiharu, Meijin White: Moriuchi Toshiyuki, Challenger Meijin-sen 1996, 3rd game 1.P7f P8d 2.P2f G3b 3.G7h P8e 4.B7g P3d 5.S8h Bx7g+ 6.Sx7g S4b 7.S3h S7b 8.P4f S8c 9.S4g S8d 10.P9f P9d 11.P3f S3c 12.G5h K4b 13.N3g P7d 14.R2i G5b 15.K4h S7c 16.P1f P1d 17.P4e S6d 18.P5f K3a 19.P2e P4d 20.Px4d Sx4d 21.S6f N3c 22.S5g G5b-4c 23.B'6a K2b 24.P2d Px2d 25.Rx2d P'2c 26.R2i P'4e 27.P7e P5d 28.Px7d P5e 29.Px5e P8f 30.Px8f B'6e 31.P1e P3e 32.Px3e P4f 33.S5gx4f S6dx5e 34.N7g Sx4f 35.Nx6e Sx3g+ 36.Kx3g N4e 37.K4h P'5g 38.G5h-6h N'5e 39.P'2d G4c-3c 40.B'7a S'3g 41.K5i Nx4g+ 42.K6i Rx8f 43.K7i P5h+ 44.Bx4d+ +Px6h 45.Gx6h Px2d 46.P'2c G3bx2c 47.S'3a 1-0 Notes about the notation: 1) A hyphen can also be used between piece and square. For example, P-7f instead of P7f (see George Fernandez' post on the Ladies Osho match). 2) Instead of B'7a, B*7a is also possible. The unfortunate result of this is that three people had to type in the game. If we do not agree on a standard notation, this will continue to happen in the future.
