I recommend you to widen the perspective ever you have.
How about summarizing like this ?

There are three aspects in "using Kanjis".

1)-a  Using Kanji in the descriptions in English. (no one seems to stick)
1)-b  Using pronunciation of original terms in alphabet. (what we insist upon)
2) Using Kanji as the symbol to signify pieces on the board diagram.

Don't you agree that it's more practical to inspect the possibility
and merit or defects based on the above ?
