Lau teaches a method for taking notation that is very similar to algebraic chess notation. If the Chinese feel that the Occidentals should use this form, why shouldn't the Japanese agree also? My personal opinion is that the style that uses Kanji notation is best, but when I'm actually recording a game, I'd like to use the alphabet that I'm already used to, since this would be much quicker and less confusing.
