Mr. Kakinoki states that he >has never received even one yen in royalties of the money he is supposed to >receive in his contract with Ishi Press International. If the Game in question is Shogi Master. I for one have injoyed it immensely and would not mind sending $10 or so to Mr. Kakinoki if he has an address. I have sent money to Ishi press in Sunny Vale and I have found that I did get what I ordered. They claimed to be getting out of the Shogi bussiness and concentrating on Go. it is possible that the Sunny Vale firm is taking over from the San Hose one??? I hope that the message that I'm responding to by Sam Sloan is legit. (There is no way for one to assert that this is so. I take it on faith that none is being inadvertantly liabled here.) > >To cite one example of this, there is a two volume work entitled "All About >Life and Death" by Cho Chikun, which many of you may have bought. This is a >pirated work. Not only has Cho Chikun not received royalties for the >publication of this book, but he never signed a contract and never consented >to the publication of this book by Ishi Press International of San Jose, >California. This is sad because 1) obviously there is legitamate foregn interest in his work. And its too bad that someone who is legit did not see this. Again this is assuming the allegations presented in Mr. Sloans message are true. (I'm not a lawyer. But I'll assume that the courts will figure it out and perhaps something good will come out of it?) -- George (613)-765-2895 :) e-mail: jost bnr ca note: my e-mail is subject to change to perhaps jost nortel ca Its not whether or win or lose but whether you enjoy the game. Of course some just enjoy the game if they win, others only enjoy the game if presented with a challenge, still others just show up for the food. ---------------------------------------------------- This memo does not represent the views of BNR/Nortel.
