From: Stephen J Lamb DEV ALS CO UK> Date: 8 feb 1996 Subject: ISS Tip of the Week! Hello fellow ISS players! Here's a handy ISS tip, told to me by 'Eamon'... If you want to play a handicap game and want the stronger player to be White then make sure Black types 'pass' as his first move. White can then take off the handicap pieces (via the 'handicap' command) and begin. Oh yes... it seems the 'handicap' command will only let you take off one piece at a time. So, for example, if you want to give a two piece handicap then you need to type 'handicap 8b' followed by 'handicap 2b', rather than typing 'handicap 8b 2b'. Try typing the latter command if you want to see what happens. Unfortunately, it seems this method will only let you take off a maximum of three pieces :-( . If anyone knows a way round this then please tell me! Best wishes, Steve Lamb. ('slam' on ISS)
