Subject: GREETING TO THEE

Hello. I learned how to play shogi through a game machine. Not a cyberkid, t
hough. I seem to have developed a major computer phobia in the past couple o
f months trying to get used to the system. To that generation I belong, you
see?  As a player of shogi I'm lousy, but I'm very interested in its history
, its finely elaborated tactics, tsume problems, professional games, etc. In
 other words, I just love everything about shogi. During this summer vacatio
n I read some old documents on shogi, one of which is an encyclopedic docume
ntation compiled in the 12th century. Not the original version, of course.
But it was a thrilling experience to find that the old shogi was played unde
r a quite different rule. Would you be interested in hearing about these thi
ngs?
