From: Pieter Stouten CARBON DMPC COM> Date: 13 aug 1996 Subject: SHOGI-L is moving - please read on! Dear SHOGI-L members, The SHOGI-L host system ("technion" running VM/CMS), is about to be phased out. SHOGI-L will be moved to host techunix.technion.ac.il on Friday 16 August 1996. The list name (SHOGI-L) will remain the same. While the list name will not change, nor will its basic operations, some change is expected in regard to command syntax, due to the fact that the list server software used will change to Majordomo. Normally, this involves very little change on your part. For your convenience, I have included Majordomo's help file that contains all the commands you need. The list archives will be moved to the new system as well and can be read via the get command. As of 16 August, the list server will be known under the equivalent names majordomo techunix technion ac il and listserv techunix technion ac il. These addresses are used to (un)subscribe, get files from the archive, etc. The SHOGI-L list will be known as shogi-l techunix technion ac il and it is this address that postings should be sent to from 16 August onwards. The list of subscribers will automatically be moved to the new system as well, so there should not be any need for anybody to resubscribe to SHOGI-L. If you have any questions or problems, please let me know. I wish you an easy transition!
