From: Yoshinori Sawada FA2 SO-NET OR JP> Date: 4 aug 1996 Subject: My Game Dear Shogi Funs, Today I would like to introduce my game in which I was defeated. It would be appreciated if strong players, especialy dan-players in the Shogi-L give me a good advice. I am only 1-kyu. This game is held on Niftyserve on-line shogi recently. I have heard that the opponent is around 3-dan. I took black side. White took fourth file rook, so I normaly made boat castle and took quick attack strategy. When I review this game, I think the first miskate was made at the following aspect(see following figure). At this aspect, my first impression was P-2d, but if I did so, then it would result Px2d,Sx2d,Sx2d.Rx2d,B*3c...it's so bad. Therefore I decided to drop Bishop at 8h first, just because I had a feeling that I had read this move. However the white's next move was B*5c. Honestly I did not understand the meaning of this move at that time. after that P-2b,Px2b,Sx2b,P*2g,S+3c P+2h,+S-4b,Bx4b,R*3b,+P-3h,S-5g,R*2h.....after all I resigned the game. Probably I made some mistakes after this too though..... However how I should do instead of B*8h?? I cannot guess any other good move. Up to the 34th move, Sx3c(White), after Bx3c+(Black) ==================================================== 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 +--------------------------------------------+ White in hand: | wL | wN | | wG | | | | wN | | a +------------------+ +--------------------------------------------+ | B P | | | wK | wS | | wG | wR | | | wL | b | | +--------------------------------------------+ +------------------+ | wP | wP | wP | | | | wS | wP | wP | c +-------------------------------------------- | | | | wP | wP | | | | | d +--------------------------------------------+ | | | | | | wP | bS | bP | | e +--------------------------------------------+ | | | bP | | bP | | wP | | bP | f +--------------------------------------------+ | bP | bP | | bP | | bP | | | | g +--------------------------------------------+ Black in hand: | | | bK | bG | bG | bS | | bR | | h +------------------+ +--------------------------------------------+ | B | | bL | bN | | | | | | bN | bL | i | | +--------------------------------------------+ +------------------+ >From the first move..
