Normally, Shogi Master will not allow me to drop a pawn and give >checkmate, but in this instance, it does allow the pawn drop. Does >anyone know for sure? > KIWAME I followed the discussion concerning the pawn drop. I think Reiger sounds sekoi. Kiwame gives the following reaction in the above situation,(how you got in the situation amazes me, but I don't play against Shogi Master) If I let Kiwame play human against human and I want to drop checkmate he gives japanese signs I normally don't see and Kiwame refuses to execute the move, so it's reasonable to presume that the signs say it is illegal to do that move. If Kiwame plays black half hour strength (Kiwame has 3 modes, ordinary consisting of 6 levels, Super consisting of 4 levels and half hour playing time) it takes silver straight away, because it's tsume. So for science sake I took back some moves and lost the silver somewhere and after the rookdrop I dropped the bishop, I made sure black had only pawns and no mate if it sacrificed his rook for the bishop. After that I gave control of black to Kiwame half hour, He dropped a pawn straight away on the third line and threatens to mate with the next move. So I conclude that a deficiency in ShogiMaster results in a very nice discussion. ------------------------------------- Name: frans roquas E-mail: roquas Date: 04/06/96 Time: 10:04:45 This message was sent by Chameleon -------------------------------------
