You mean this person has done all this and is not connected to the
internet?  Are they windows-based programs?  I'd like to get a copy of
these programs too.

As far as shogi variants go, I have nothing against them, but it is so
hard to find shogi opponents, let alone shogi variant opponents.

Maybe this person could also write a chinese-chess program that plays
on squares and uses standard western chess symbols for the pieces?
