I learned about Shogi by downloading Gnu-Shogi 1.10E (by Kazuhiko Seki) late one night. Unfortunately, I found that program too weak and have not, as yet, found another Shogi program for the Mac that I like. Anyway, now I would like to learn more about the game, have gotten a couple of my friends interested, and may even make myself a Shogi set (Since the local hobby shops will not order me one). I got this address from Stouten's Web Page and I used a Lycos search to find that. I do not understand 95% of this list, but I like getting it in my mailbox automatically. My purpose in remaining a member of this is list is to learn more about Shogi, find out if there are Shogi players here in Nebraska (unlikely, I know), keep informed in Shogi events nearby, and find a stonger Shogi program for the Mac. Since there is this discussion of introducing new players to Shogi, I just thought one of us new players should say "hello." If there is another list which is more appropriate for us novices, let me know. Otherwise, I'll just keep listening in. Thanks. Sean H. Harrison
