I think mailing lists are capable of reaching more people than a newsgroup is, but in general, newsgroups have much more visibility. Now, I remember I use to receive something called the Chess Digest which was a mirror of the rec.games.chess newsgroup. I am unsure how they did it but it seems as though that is the sort of solution you are looking for here. The mailing list is great, not only because it can reach more people, but there are all of these archived files you can get from this list(such as games played at the top level and intermediate levels of shogi)... I'm not sure if you have those all available via FTP as well, but just the fact that they are available is good. I would hate to see certain things go by replacing the mailing list go. A mirroring system would be ideal. Does anyone know how such a thing could work? (or know someone who does)??? Cheers, hugh
