Has anyone ever tried to start a rec.games.shogi newsgroup?

The procedure explained in "The Internet Complete Reference" makes it
sound easy enough.  Basically all that is needed is a two thirds "yes"
vote and a margin of 100 votes of yes over no.  There are over 200
people on this mailing list so we should be able to get enough votes
without soliciting our friends. I hope this thread get as much
attention as "King in check" has gotten recently.
