One thing to do, when looking for shogi players on IGS/ISS is:
    who all 3
This will list all the players with shogi choice logged on.

Another good idea is to create, if not existent, an channel to shogi players.
This can be done by typing:
; \1     (if 1 is not an already open channel)
chann 1 title shogi

to see which channels are already open type:
channel

if there is already a shogi channel then you can move into it by typing:
; \X     ,where X must be substituted by the number of the shogi channel.

to leave all channels:
; \-1
