The only book that comes to my mind is "Guide to Shogi Openings," a bilingual (English and Japanese) book by professional Aono Teruichi. There is also the now defunct bimonthly "Shogi" (70 issues were published between 1976 and 1987) that does not thoroughly cover all openings, but may be a good starting point nonetheless. All issues (except #1) can be obtained from George Hodges, P.O. Box 77, Bromley, Kent BR1 2WT, England, Tel. It is more commonly known as "gintaden."
