A MESSAGE TO OUR READERS

For the last 17 years Go World has been published by The Ishi Press Inc. and
for the last 8 years distributed by Ishi Press International in North
America. However, because of serious differences I have been having with the
other directors of Ishi Press International over the last year or so, I have
terminated my relations with them and with that organization.

>From this issue, Go World will be published by Kiseido Publishing Company and
will be distributed in North America by Kiseido, our office in San Rafael,
California. That office is up and running under the management of Bill
Franke, and we are now able to satisfy most of your needs in go books and
equipment.

Since issue number 71, I have made it a point to have this magazine printed
at regular, three-month intervals. This issue has come out exactly three
months after the previous issue, and it is my intention as both editor and
publisher to maintain a strict publication schedule. However, during this
transition period, there may be some disruption and/or delay in receiving the
issues you paid for.

Since I do not have access to the Go World subscriber list, I must ask those
who have made advance payment for issues of this magazine to inform Kiseido
of their names and addresses, and from which issue their subscriptions began
and how many issues they paid for. Even though Kiseido did not and probably
will not receive payment for these subscriptions, I consider it more
important that our readers receive the magazines they paid for than financial
considerations. Please inform your friends who may be Go World subscribers so
that there will be minimal delay in their receipt of this magazine.

I founded Ishi Press in Japan 27 years ago for the purpose of spreading go in
the West. In this endeavor I have been very fortunate to have been assisted
by both Jim Davies and John Power, who shared my dream of making go as
popular in the West as it is in the East. Through Kiseido I intend to carry
on the Ishi Press tradition and to continue publishing go books and Go World
for at least another 27 years.
