From: Don Connors VM TAU AC IL> Date: 8 feb 1995 Subject: East Coast USA Shogi Event - 2 In reply to questions regarding yesterday's posting about this weekend's shogi events in New York City: Mr Tak Nagasaki: You are more than welcome to stop by "for a few minutes (or a few hours) for free" to watch the games. There is no fee for spectators and you do not have to order anything from the restaurant. If you wish to play in the tournaments, just be at the Hamaya Restaurant by noon on Saturday for Saturday's tournament or by 10:00 AM on Sunday for the second tournament. There is a small fee for playing in the tournaments, about $10 per day. The New York Shogi Club collects this money to cover its expenses for renting this facility. We will be on the top floor, above the restaurant itself. Registration is at the tournament site. We are expecting between 25 and 30 players at this event. They will range in strength from about 5-kyu to 5-dan, amateur. Are you aware that there is a very good shogi club that meets regularly in New York? This is a great opportunity to meet them. Mr Georgio Verde: I only received the excerpt part of your message. Please repost or Email me directly if you have any questions. Regards, Don Connors dconnors bna com
