Subject: My stand point on cord description

To all the Shogi fans abroad

I have received several E-mails since I have disclosed my Shogi
book in English. They are all thoughtful and useful to me.
>From next publication I'm certain to let native English speakers
review and correct my English as Stouten-san has suggested.

What made me relieved much is that he has understood my stand point;
>I'm not something like a patriot or racist or anything.

Now, I think it's my task to explain how I dared to adopt new cord
description system in spite of already existing western system.
Let me do it little by little.

To say the truth, my first draft is made by western system. It has
completed just one year ago. But, as that volume bacame much more
than I have expected, I suddenly felt that I have been doing some-
thing wrong to the long Japanese tradition.
It's terminology is King, Rook, Bishop, Keima,. . .
It's not the original nomination Gyok, Hisha, Kack, Keima. . . !
Am I allowed to use such terminology and introduce them toward whole
the world ?
Am I entitled to do that ?

English people to introduce foreign culture toward his homeland.
Yeah, he might say just "It correponds to our Rook, Knight, etc."

I support his stand point. It may not be the best way, but we have
nothing to say against his way; he has introduced it anyway.

Then, problem exists in me, a real Japanese.

My draft became abundant, and next volume was already expected.
Translation right of masterpieces on Shogi not unknown, but I was
eager to get it.
Then, my choice might become a definitive effect on broader intro-
duction of the Shogi game in the future.

I have pondered upon it not knowing which was the right way.
