Two remarks:

1) I found out that a Japanese Dos is usually no real requirement for
Shogi software. The Japanese Dos in needed to display the Japanese
characters but if you can't read Japanese it's no use to display the text
anyway. You can play a program such as Kiwame on a regular Dos, as the
board is drawn using bit maps.

2) Should I be concerned about my style now? I was just getting rid of my
initial inhibitions playing Shogi. What exactly is meant by bad style?

On saturday August 26, the computer program Kiwame 2 will participate in
a non-official Shogi quick-play tournament during the European Shogi
Championship in Brussels. The program will run on a Pentium 133 MHz,
currently the fastest PC.
