Shogi fans Hot discussions about the differences between chess and shogi are arising at a chess forum on one of the networks in Japan, where they are involving even Japan chess champion, however, the subject has been broken up, and discussions are rather entangled each other. I'd like to get extensive opinions in order to tide me over this cramped position and to clear my idea up. Would you please tell me your miscellaneous impressions of shogi in contrast with chess? Of course, each of these two games has its own rule, and they are obviously different each other. I want not such a serious distinction, but casual ideas you feel about shogi. Any kind of guess or suggestions are also welcome. For example; Process of the game, opening, middle game, and endgame Moves of the pieces, Promotion, Drop back of captured pieces Tactics and Strategy in various situations Problem, Etude (Study), Fairy Computer programs Tournaments and Matches, Titles Organizer, Literature, History, etc. Thanks in advance.
