Dear Shogi fans in New York,

You may be very exciting with the world cup soccer games now.
Anyway, I am going to visit New York on July 15-17 after
visiting Berkeley, California to attend a Workshop on
Combinatorial Games at MSRI.

Those who have interest in playing shogi with me or discussing with
me about shogi or computer shogi, please contact me.
Sorry, now I have not so detailed information of visiting New York
except that I will meet Mr. Hayashi (who will organize everything)
on July 15 evening, being ``Red Eye'' from San Francisco.
Mr. Oohara, who was the former president of New York shogi club,
introduced me to contact him. It may be possible for us to enjoy
shogi time during July 15 evening - July 17 night.

Regarding this matter, someone please help us by conacting My. Hayashi,
if you know, that shogi players staying near New York may come to the
place to meet with me, by providing more detailed information in shogi-L.
Sorry, it's too poor information.

If USA players join the event (to play against me), the Nihon Shogi
Renmei promised me to supprt the event in making a book in which
you may see your game scores (played with me) with my brief notes,
of course in English.

Anyway, it is the first time for me to visit a shogi club in USA.
I will leave Japan on July 10, looking forward to seeing you.

Ps: Under the support by the Nihon Shogi Renmei and the Japan Foundation,
Mr. Oshima Eiji, professional 6-dan, visited the shogi clubs of DC
and New York.  I heard from him after coming from USA that he had very
fruitful time with nice shogi fans in USA.
