You just don't want to admit that it is yours. :-) The only information I have in regard to a Gameboy Shogi cartridge is that Nintendo did make one in 1989, it sold for 3300 yen (a little more than $33 these days) and it was called "Shogi" (in Japanese). Whenever I was in Tokyo for 3 months about a year ago, I never saw it... I did not look for it very extensively, but I did try to see if it was available. Most of the time the salesperson just shook his head, and said, "only Famicom and Super Famicom have Shogi". I met another foreigner (he worked as a Japanese to English translator) who actually learned how to play the game of Shogi with this now-hard-to-find-ancient cartridge. This was when it first came out, which I think was when Gameboy was fairly new and very popular. On the subway, other kids would be playing their Gameboys. They were fascinated that he also was keeping up with the current fad, and also they were usually surprised because obviously they had to see just what game he was actually playing. I never got to actually see it, I think he described it as having poor graphics and not very strong. Although, he admits that after awhile he felt good enough playing it that he entered a tournament, but he lost every game. So it is probably not readily available, and maybe the only way someone gets it nowadays is to buy a used one somewhere.... Kevin Moore mrkeys holonet net I suspect the Shogi cartridges that someone else has seen have been Super Famicom (which is Japanese version of Super Nintendo) but I could be wrong.
