At the moment, there is only "Shogi Master" for Western PCs, sold by Ishi Press International. It is rated at 6-kyu and is based on an older version of Kakinoki's program that came second in the Computer Shogi Tournament, held last December in Tokyo. In March of this year Hiroki Kawada fhi-berlin mpg de> reported that an IBM version of "Kiwame II" should hit the market this August (that's now !). Kiwame II is the strongest Shogi program in existence, supposedly 2-dan. Do you have any news, Hiroki ? Two years ago, Michael Mattock rand org> reported a program called "Super Shogi." It works on the Super Nintendo if you have an adaptor. I quote Michael: "I got it for $92.00 at my local Yaohan Pony Toy Go Round; if you shop around you should be able to get it for about $70.00 to $80.00. The adaptor costs about $30.00." Hope this helps. Cheers, Pieter.
