Subject: DC Shogi Club

          Harold,
          We are the shogi club for the Washington, DC area.  Our
          present meeting site is in Arlington, Virginia, a nearby
          suburb, but our players are from all over the Washington
          metropolitan area.  This includes the District of Columbia
          and the Maryland and Virginia suburbs.
          Anyone who is interested may come to our club meetings,
          tournaments and special events.
          This year we have welcomed visitors from Japan (a
          professional player, Oshima Eiji), Europe, and several U.S.
          cities.  This weekend we are expecting players from the
          Chicago club at our tournament, and Larry Kaufman is here
          visiting from Florida.
          We try to encourage contact between shogi centers in the US,
          which is made somewhat difficult by the distance between
          major cities.  I think that this distribution list can play
          a major role in establishing and maintaining those contacts.
