Both events are open to all Shogi players. Players come from many states including a group of players from the New York Shogi Club. Players of all strengths (including rank beginners) will have the opportunity to have a great time and enjoy themselves tremendously. Spectators are also welcome. Venue: Courtland Park Function Room, 1st Floor, 2500 Clarendon Boulevard, Arlington, Virginia 22201 (just across the Potomac from Georgetown). The playing venue can be reached by metro (Orange Line) from Union Station. Get off at the Courthouse stop and walk 4 blocks west to the corner of Barton Street. Recommended hotel accommodation: Rosslyn Westpark Hotel, 1900 North Fort Myer Drive (800-336-3777) have weekend (Fri/Sat) rates of $67 for single or double occupancy. Early reservations required.
