Here's another idea: Why not choose a channel number on IGS and use it to flag player availability? Anytime you logon to the server do "channels" and if there is anyone on the channel, then you know there is someone interested in a game. I asked tim to put a line in the motd to publicise the idea. I propose to use channel 3 (tim's suggestion and it fits with shogi being the 3rd "choice" on the server). Until the various new features get added, it seems like a reasonable half-measure. -jonathan -- Jonathan H N Chin, 5 kyu | Dept of Cybernetics | "Respondeo, etsi mutabor" (go) | University of Reading | shrchin reading ac uk | Box 225, Whiteknights | < Rosenstock-Huessy > cybjhnc cyber rdg ac uk | Reading RG6 2AY, UK |
