From: Reijer Grimbergen NICI KUN NL> Date: 4 nov 1993 Subject: Sato Yasumitsu equalizes in Ryu-O match At this moment the biggest Japanese tournament, the Ryu-O is in its final stages. Two weeks ago the best of seven match between Sato Yasumitsu (7-dan) and "Heavenly talent" Habu Yoshiharu (the title holder) started off in Singapore with a win by Habu. It was the third time Habu played a professional game outside of Japan and it was also his third win. However, back in Japan Sato equalized the score with a win in 157 moves (Japanese count). Habu is considered to be more or less unbeatable these days, but if anyone can do it, it is the current challenger. My prediction is that it will go all the way in this match and a seventh game is such a tense affair that anything can happen (because I met Mr. Sato several times I am hoping for a big upset and a 4-3 win by him). The third game will be played on November 9th and 10th and I will post the result unless some Japanese subscriber to the Shogi-L beats me to it.
