                  The 9th European Shogi Championships
 
                   The Hague, August 12th - 15th 1993
 
 
Together with the 9th European Shogi Championships (open to dan-players only), a
tournament will be organised that is open to all Shogi players. This tournament
will
also be held on August 12th to 15th in:
 
             Hostel, Hotel & Conference center "Ockenburgh"

 Format: The tournament will be 8 rounds Swiss with 1 hour per player and 30
seconds byoyomi.

 Rates & Accomodation: RICOH is not sponsoring the tournament this year. To keep
      the costs for participation as low as possible, we can offer the following
      package:
            * Three nights in a double room (bed & breakfast)
            * Three lunches
            * Three dinners
            * Tea/coffee breaks
            * Enrolment in the tournament
            This package will cost Dfl 325,=.
      -Enrolment alone will cost Dfl 30,=.
      -Alternatives can be discussed with the organisation, but this should be
done
well in advance.
 
How to reach the venue:
*By bus: Line 122, 123 or 124 from The Hague central station. Stop "Ockenburgh".
 *By car: From the motorways A4, A12 or A13 via the Prins Clausplein follow
direction
      Rijswijk. In Rijswijk follow Den Haag west/Wateringen. On the border of
      Rijswijk/Den Haag follow Kijkduin/Ockenburgh. Then follow direction
Monster.
      After the gardencenter Ockenburgh to the right over the bridge and into
the park
      (see map).

N.B.: Both organisers will be in Japan from June 11th until July 10th, so they
can not
be reached during that period.
 
      All players must confirm their participation on August 5 at the latest. If
 
your entry
is received later, we can not make any arrangements for your overnight
