Subject: obtaining gnushogi-1.0 and xshogi-1.0

Hi there,
 
After my announcment of gnushogi-1.0 and xshogi-1.0 I received
a lot of requests for getting the sources. Therefore, I have
built up a rapid archive file for each program. There is a lot
of work to be done, espacially documenting the software.
 
Please, enjoy the VERY FIRST version of gnushogi, and wait for a
stronger version.....
 
You can obtain gnushogi-1.0 and xshogi-1.0 via anonymous FTP.
Connect to our FTP server and get the compressed arcive file:
 
   ftp forwiss.fmi.uni-passau.de            (currently 132.231.1.10)
   Name (forwiss:xxxx): anonymous
   Password: xxxx
   cd pub/local/shogi
   binary
   get gnushogi-1.0.tar.Z
   get xshogi-1.0.tar.Z
   bye
 
Uncompress the files
 
   uncompress gnushogi-1.0.tar.Z
   tar xf gnushogi-1.0.tar
   uncompress xshogi-1.0.tar.Z
   tar xf xshogi-1.0.tar
 
Build the programs (you may previously modify the makefiles):
 
  cd gnushogi-1.0/src
  make
  cd ../../xshogi-1.0
  make
  ln -s ../gnushogi-1.0/src/gnushogix .
 
... and hopefully you will have made it.

building the programs.
