From: Pieter Stouten EMBL-HEIDELBERG DE> Date: 18 jan 1993 Subject: Tsume. FAQ. Brinkmate. Recently it has been suggested by Roger Hare and Chris Sterritt to put tsume rules and other frequently asked questions in one or more files in the SHOGI-L archive. For some time I planned to do this with tsume problems and rules, but at the moment the problem is that I cannot add new entries to the archive directory (SHOGI-L FILELIST). That is the only drawback of not being on bitnet any longer :-). I'll look into the matter soon. I would welcome a resubmission of tsume rules with examples. Please go ahead Roger. As to the Japanese translation of "brinkmate" (or vice versa), it is "hisshi," which means "desperation" if I remember correctly. Hisshi problems are mating problems where at least one move (by the attacker) does not give check. Cheers, Pieter.
