Hi, all.
  Here's the latest on the ladder situation.
 
Well, so much for the 3-dan game. One of the players - Guillaume - has been
called up, and so has had to leave the ladder. I wonder if the real army is as
exciting as Shogi? :-) I don't envy him. Luckily for me, I come from a country
without conscription.
 
A couple of other people have been removed due to "death", which makes some
more challenges possible near the top.
 
Talking of which, John is still sitting at the top, unchallenged. Why doesn't
someone within five places of him challenge him, Pieter, Oluf, Chris, Adam or
Dave? Ah. Whoops. That's me. Right, John - The moment Oluf has finished me off
in our game, look out (unless someone else gets to you first).
 
This is the first of the new-look automated ladders. Most of my ladder
maintenance is now done by typing a few simple commands, and some software does
the rest for me. This means
(a) It is much faster for me :-), and
(b) It will all go horribly wrong at some point! :-(
If you think you are a victim of a bug, then let me know a.s.a.p.!
