In Chess, the objective is to mate the opponent's king, in Shogi it is to capture the king (although in reality mate effectively signals the end of the game). Therefore, stalemate is an unknown concept in Shogi, no special rules are required and no loopholes are available to reach a draw from an otherwise lost position. Happy Holidays, Pieter.
