Anton,

I just received a GNU Shogi program ported to Mac. A friend downloaded it from
Nifftyserv in Japan and sent it to me. The menu and dialogs uses
Japanese Char. and it is unreadable on a system other than Japanese OS. Though
it is still usable by just guessing the menu.

I have changed the menu to English using the friend's translation.
The dialogs have not been translated yet. But I don't have problem guessing
what they mean so far.
I will submit it to sumex and the U. of Michigan site soon.


I have enjoyed playing the program. I will let other people on this list
to comment on how good it plays. I am very weak in Shogi and cann't comment
on its strength.

It will be good to have also a list of what PCs the programs was running on
at the tournament.

Also, it will be interesting to see move lists of some of the games played
in the tournament.
