Unfortunately the American Association has passed away (I think some 7
or 8 years ago). Rumours were that they had invested a lot of money in
Shogi material that they could not sell and consequently went bankrupt.
I have no way of telling whether that is true.
 
The closest thing to a national body is the DC Shogi Club. Though
technically a local club only they publish a newsletter that contains
information relevant for every Shogi player in USA. They also have a
working Elo rating and dan/kyu grading system. The DC Shogi Club can be
