From: Pieter Stouten EMBL-HEIDELBERG DE> Date: 22 jun 1992 Subject: Second German Open Shogi Championship (announcement) Shogi Deutschland e.V. organizes the Second German Open Shogi Championship, NOVEMBER, 14 & 15, 1992. * Last year we organized the German Open Shogi Championship for the first time. With 30 participants and 3 European Champions amongst them it was a great success and the championship was awarded the status of Grand Prix tournament. We are determined to make this year's Championship an even greater success ! So try to make it and score your first points in the 1992-1993 Grand Prix season. * The tournament will be over six rounds of 1 hour plus 30 seconds byoyomi per player per game. A Swiss/McMahon system will be employed. * Venue is the Gesamtdeutsche Bildungsstaette, Himmighausen, Bahnhof 57c, 3493 Nieheim, BRD. Nieheim is located in the beautiful Teutoburg Forest, only 200-250 KM East of Nijmegen, Holland and the nearby town of Altenbeken can be reached easily by train. Transport from Altenbeken to the playing venue will be provided. * Overnight accommodation is available at the playing venue for a maximum of 60 players. We have negotiated lump sum prices and are able to offer full board for the entire weekend for only 80 DM. This comprises dinner and accommodation on Friday 13, breakfast, lunch, dinner and accommodation on Saturday 14, and breakfast and lunch on Sunday 15.
