The file SHOGI ADDRESS in the SHOGI-L archive gives: Ishi Press (Go and Shogi books and magazines). * Ishi Press International, 76 Bonaventura Drive, San Jose, CA 95134, USA. I don't know if it is of commercial quality :-) >Also, I have about half the issues of Shogi magazine, published by >G.F. Hodges. Also, the DC Shogi Club in Arlington, VA publishes a Newsletter and all European Associations have magazines. In addition I seem to recall that Kent Shogi Activity publishes a Newsletter as well. Admittedly only the magazine published by the British Shogi Federation (and the Kent one if it still exists) is fully in English, but it contains high quality material. Especially European Champion David Murphy's contributions (originals and translations) are worth reading. >For example, where would I find out about all the Shogi computer programs >that have been mentioned? > That information comes from a Japanese book (#45 in the series "Information & Computing"). It is in one of the appendices. You definitely have to know Japanese or know a Japanese-speaking person in order to benefit from it. I can't give you the publisher's name (yet) since I have very little knowledge of Japanese. Pieter Stouten.
