Chris Sterritt wanted to develop a program for the Mac and Jonathan Brown windchime nersc gov> for the Amiga. I don't know how far they have got. As to available programs: for Western PCs there is only "Shogi Master". For NEC machines (9800 series I believe) there are some 30 or 40 which cost anywhere between 580 and 18000 (18 thousand) yen (information January 1990). I have no idea about their strength. Apart from that professional Shogi player AND Shogi program author Mr. Hiroyuki Iida TUATG TUAT AC JP> has written a program for Suns in LISP. I don't know whether that one is publicly available. You can check with him. Hope this helps. Pieter Stouten embl-heidelberg de>
