Subject: Computer Shogi

I have the "Shogi Master" PC program, but have as yet not played it since
I do not own a PC. (But I must be able to find one at the University or
at some friend's house if I put my mind to it...)
 
Agostino Guberti has played Shogi Master and says that level 1 is totally
hopeless. He said he has also tried playing it on the top level (6?) and
that it is very slow. I think this is to be expected - most Chess programs/
computers are pretty slow on their top levels.
 
Mind you, he says the NOVAG Chinese Chess computer is hopeless on level 1,
and I haven't beaten it yet (blush). Could be he's generally quite good
at chess-family games.
