It is available from the SHOGI-L archive. Just send a mail/file/message to Listserv@technion with the command GET SHOGI 03A2 and you will get Crane's Shogi 0.3a2 as a binhexed self-extracting archive, so you will need either BinHex4 or StuffIt 1.5.1 to unravel it. Documentation is only in Japanese and requires the Japanese operating system. Since the program is pretty much self-explanatory, this should not be a problem. In addition, the English docs that accompany version 0.21e for the greater part apply to version 0.3a2 too. Differences with the previous version (0.21e) are: 1) The user can select between Japanese and English menus. 2) It can save and restore games. (I have not tested out this feature.) 3) It plays stronger than its predecessor. 4) It is easier to make the right choice in case promotion is possible. Version 0.3a2 still has some bugs, but that is why is is an alpha-version. I suggest you don't use it under MultiFinder. Hope this helps.
