From: atkinson VAXROM CERN CH Date: 26 apr 1991 Subject: Tolerably wondrous cardboard objects Where can I get some of those paper/cardboard sets that Klaus had at Frankfurt? Do I need to write to the NSR, or does one of the European sources have a stock of them? I haven't had an issue of the Ishi Press Shogi magazine for what seems like quite a while now. What is the last issue of it that people out there have seen, and when? Still no useful information about the games thing June 12-16. Thus far I have been told I can come along and show Shogi to people without needing to pay for the privelige. The venue won't allow anything to be sold, so "GeV" is clearly not a trade fair. There are going to be some "speeches", but as there are rooms specially for these, one can simply ignore them. I will send another message when I know something useful. Pieter Stouten has sent me a message asking for more info when I have it. Would anyone reading this be inclined to visit Rome in June, not necessarily ONLY to play Shogi with beginners but possibly to thrash a few beginners and to see Rome. I can offer tolerable hospitality to smallish numbers of people (3 or 4), intolerable hospitality to slightly greater numbers, and can say "Er. Dunno, really" should large numbers of people be seized by an insane desire to come to Rome. If you are at all interested, please let me know what you would need to know before you could make up your mind. Is there a Chinese Chess list on the net? Anyone know where I can get any books in any language at all other than the Ishi press one? (The Flammirion one is out of print, I have been told). Adam Atkinson Rome
